Free RAF Viewer

RAF file types identify Fuji RAW image files that are created with Fuji digital cameras. Some types of Fuji digital cameras that support RAF file type are:

  • Fuji FinePix E550
  • Fuji FinePix E900
  • Fuji FinePix F700
  • Fuji FinePix F810
  • Fuji FinePix S2 Pro
  • Fuji FinePix S20 Pro
  • Fuji FinePix S3Pro
  • Fuji FinePix S5000
  • Fuji FinePix S5100
  • Fuji FinePix S5600
  • Fuji FinePix S5Pro
  • Fuji FinePix S6500
  • Fuji FinePix S7000
  • Fuji FinePix S9000
  • Fuji FinePix S9500
RAF files contain all the information necessary to make an image as sharpening level, contrast and saturation settings, color temperature … and they are all stored in so called header file. Also RAF file contain technical characteristics of Fuji camera.Compared to JPG and other image formats, RAF image file have much wider color range and have maximum proximity to the real picture. That means that RAF images represent exactly what the sensors of camera have detected, same as the human eyes detects things.Compared to JPG files that have 8 bits of intensity information, RAF files, depending on camera model, have 12 to 14 bit images. Because much better quality and more image information, RAF files are larger in size and it’s harder to transfer online or taking too much space on card or disk. Because of that many of photographers prefer to convert RAF files to other formats.RAF viewer is a free product that can be used to open, convert, resize and save RAF image files. Converting is available in JPEG, PNG, GIFF, TIFF and BMP image extensions and it provides maximum quality of converted images.RAF viewer is small, compact freeware viewer with very user-friendly interface, so any user, no matter if is beginner or advance can use it without a problem and can open, zoom, rotate, resize, convert and save .raf images to other formats.

Free TGA viewer

TGA file format referred and as TARGA file format, is a raster graphic file format. This was the native format of Truevision Inc’s TARGA and VISTA boards, the first graphic cards for IBM compatible PCs to support Highcolor/Truecolor display. TARGA is an acronym for Truevision Advanced Raster Graphics Adapter; TGA is initialism for Truevision Graphic Adapter. Today, most of the people refer to this format as “TARGA file format”. TGA files have “.tga” extension on PC DOS/Windows systems and Mac OS X. Older Macintosh systems use TPIC type code.

TGA can store image data with 8, 16, 24 and 32 bits of precision per pixel, maximum 24 bits of RGB and extra 8 bits alpha channel. TGA file format originally was defined and specified by AT&T EPICenter in 1984. Their two cards, VDA (Video Display Adapter) and ICB (Image Capture Board) used the first incarnations of the TGA file format.

Even today, with its maximum color depth, TGA is not well suited for high-end pre-press, inventive image processing systems. TGA is still used throughout the animation and video industry because its primary intended outputs are standard TV screens, not color printed pages. Uncompressed 24 bit TGA images are relatively simple compared to several other 24 bit formats. A 24 bit TGA contains only 18 byte header followed by the image data as packed RGB data.

Today, there are not many programs for opening and converting TGA file format. TGA viewer is a small, compact tool for opening, resizing and converting TGA file format to others image formats as JPEG, GIF, Bitmap, TIFF and others. With a very simple user interface this software is easy for using for every type of computer users, beginners or advanced users.

Free Nikon Digital RAW Image Viewer (NEF Viewer)

NEF stands for Nikon Electronic Format and it’s a data flow taken from the photosensitive matrix of the camera and it’s written without any processing.
NEF is often called digital negative and it contains more information then JPEG or TIFF formats. Because of maximum quality of stored images and lowest losses, professional photographers and many owners of Nikon, prefer to save their images in NEF extension.

NEF files contain data exactly as it was captured by the CCD. Almost every Nikon camera stores their NEF images in different sub formats. Because of that, there can’t be found many tools that support NEF file extensions.

NEF viewer is a one of not many FREE applications that support wide range of NEF sub formats – support wide range of Nikon cameras.

Free CR2 Viewer

R2 file type is used by some popular Canon digital cameras, such as EOS300d, EOS350d, EOS400d and Digital Rebel XT. Earlier Canon cameras used the .CRW file format, which is based on the Camera Image File Format (CIFF).
CR2 is a RAW format that replaced CRW format. RAW format means that the data is written to memory directly from the CCD or CMOS chip, without any modification, processing or compression. So CR2 is a short name for Canon RAW version 2 file format.
This files usually contains much information's for the picture that are lost when picture is saved in JPEG or other image file formats. Because CR2 file format contains vast quantities of information, the size of the CR2 file will be about four times larger than equivalent highest quality JPEG file format.

These extra information's that are contained in CR2, make this Canon Raw images popular and favored in astrophotography because in post processing can be bought very fine details of planets, nebulae and galaxies. Also CR2 (or RAW files generally) offer great flexibility if you are dealing with exposure times. To under exposed images can easily be increased in brightness - contrast without introducing noise or effecting the dynamic range, as can a over exposed image.
Canon Raw Digital Image Viewer, or shortly, CR2 viewer is a free product that can easily open, convert, resize and save CR2 image files. Exporting is available in JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF and others file images extensions, providing maximum quality of exported images.
CR2 viewer, dispite converting CR2 extension in other file formats, also provide and rotating of the opened image and resizing. Enlarging or reducing of the images with CR2 viewer is done without losing much quality of opened image.
With other words, CR2 viewer is a nice tool for managing your Canon Raw images.
