CRW file format is Canon RAW format. Canon uses two types of RAW image format, CRW and CR2 file formats. Today, CRW file format is no longer used by Canon because is replaced by CR2 format. CRW files are written in CIFF – Camera Image File Format. CRW format have structure that is fundamentally similar to TIFF, but difference is that CRW offsets are not absolute; they are relative to the start of the data block for each directory. Another difference is that data in the files comes before the directories, which is minimizes the amount of memory needed to shield the data within the file.
